Step 8 – Think Long Term by Writing an Ezine Article

Writing and distributing an ezine article is the most powerful FREE form of advertising available online.

This has been my #1 marketing method for years, and has caused my writing to be seen by literally tens of millions of readers. Many others have built their businesses primarily by writing and distributing ezine articles.

The good news is that you can do the very same thing.

The key is to write the article in such a way that publishers will want to use it. And there are six ways to do that.

1. Write about what people want to read about. People come online to find information, make money, and have fun. If your article helps them do these things more easily, you’ve got a winner.
2. Keep your article length to fewer than 600 words. While some publishers will publish long articles, most will not and many will not even bother to read your article if it is long.
3. Give three to five action steps. The best articles are the ones where the reader can take action today based on what they have just read.
4. Tell the publisher about the article when you email him or her. Tell them the length of the article and give them a brief summary of the content to save them some reading time.
5. Mention something specific about the ezine to which you are submitting your article. Subscribe to the ezine and read an issue or two before you approach the publisher. Then tell them what you like about their ezine as well as why your article will make a great fit.
6. Submit to publishers and article directories. There are tons of directories on the Internet where you can post your article free.

Once your article is written and ready to go, email it to the ezine publishers that fit your criteria.
