You are going to make money with your blog by attracting visitors and then advertising to them. The more traffic your blog generates, the more opportunities you have to make money.
There are three different types of advertisements that you can use:
- Banner ads – pay you each time the ad is viewed. For every 1,000 visitors that view your blog, you would be paid $X.
- Pay-Per-Click ads (PPC) - pay you each time a visitor clicks on the ad.
- Affiliate Product links – pay you a commission whenever a visitor clicks through your affiliate link and ends up purchasing the product.
For the blogs that you are going to be running, you will only want to use PPC ads and links for your affiliate products. Although these links require that your viewers actually click on them or make a purchase, they pay considerably better than banner advertising.
The PPC ad provider that you should use is Google’s AdSense. Not only do they have the largest inventory of ads, they also pay the most per click. AdSense ads are targeted ads, meaning that the ads that appear on any given page of your blog are determined by the keywords that you use on that page. Because these ads are relevant to the content on your blog, advertisers pay much more per click, and you will have a much higher click-through rate.
